Rogues Knives Warranty DOES NOT cover knives that have been disassembled, modified or cosmetically altered by anyone.

Any such actions will NOT be covered under warranty.

Scuffs marks / small scratches on the finish of a blade may occur when making and using a Kydex sheath, this is considered normal.

Wear to the finish from use or contact with the sheath will happen over time.

Imperfections in the finish including "swirls" and colour variations are normal and add to making your knife unique.

Please be careful and use common sense when using your knife, one day your life may depend on it. Care for it as any good tool, in doing so your knife will last a lifetime.

Care & Maintenance

Blade care Try and accept the fact that carbon steel will tarnish a little over its life time and this only adds to the life story of the blade, and the unique look only your knife has. A light covering of oil is recommended when the knife is not being used. olive oil works well as we apply this to our cast iron cookware when camping, and it is also edible. If you find your self in a wet climate say tropical rainforest or jungle, I have used an oil-soaked rag stored in a zip lock bag and at the end of each day lightly applied this to the knife to prevent rust. Another good idea is to take Chapstick used for dry lips, it can be easily carried in a pocket and is non-toxic. I would not recommend sanding your blade if you can help it, as the grinded bevels will eventually become rounded and will loose sharpness thus removing to much metal over time if continued.

Sheath care You don't need anything fancy to care for a leather sheath, if it gets wet let it dry out naturally (without the knife in it) and simply use some treatment on it. A good quality leather balm is great for this but any saddle oil or leather nourishment is good. If it is getting scuffed then simply use a shoe polish in the closest colour and it will work to treat minor scratches or marks, this will also help to protect from weather.

Kydex needs minimal care and is resistant to even the harshest of weather, however Kydex can be hard on blades and blade finishes especially if sand or dirt gets inside the sheath and you are repeatedly taking the knife in and out of the sheath. If you don’t have the time to wash it out, it will damage any finish you have by leaving scratches on the blade.  However, if you put a dirty knife into the sheath, particles can become imbedded in your sheath, and cause rapid scratching to the finish. Particles can even be small airborne pieces of sand or dust. Scratches will only be cosmetic and will not affect the performance of the blade.
